Canned Stewed Pork Fried Bee Hoon
Most of us are not a stranger to Stewed Pork Fried Bee Hoon. The stewed pork has a rich and flavorful gravy that makes the bee hoon slightly moist and savory. A easy dish to prepare, only 4 ingredients are required if you follow my recipe.

The first time I had this dish, it was prepared by my mother-in-law. All I felt was, “How can this be so good?” or “Why didn’t I have this before?” Plus it was really easy to prepare and cook within 30 mins. I don’t even have to add seasoning as the stewed pork itself was already flavorful enough. My husband will keep refilling his plate and finish everything in the pan.
Stewed Pork
- Using canned stewed pork for this recipe saves a lot of time if you need a quick meal. Any brand or type of stewed pork can be used, it’s usually either Narcissus or Gulong. I’ve tried both brands and both tastes good.
- Pork leg or pork belly with have more fats, so use pork ribs for lesser fat.
- You can always prepare and cook your own stewed pork if that’s what you prefer.
- If you feel the dish is not savory enough, you can add 1 to 2 tablespoons of soy sauce.

Choice of vegetable
- Leeks are nutritious and add mildly-sweet onion flavour to the dish. You can also substitute with cabbage, beansprouts or any other leafy greens.
- Adding chopped garlic or onion will give it more fragrance.
- If you like, you can add sliced mushrooms too.
Bee Hoon (Rice Vermicelli)
- Soak beehoon in water for at least 15 mins until noodles are fully reconstituted.
- Do not soak bee hoon for more than 30 mins, as the bee hoon will be too soft. It will break into very short strands while frying.
