Ingredients
70gdried white bait or ikan bilis, washed and drained
250gplain flour
25grice flour
1tspbaking powder
ΒΌtspbicarbonate of soda
2tbspsspring onions, finely chopped
1red chilli, seeded and chopped finely
1tbspoil
1tspsalt
1egg, lightly beaten
280mlwater
2cupsoil, for deep-frying
Instructions
Combine all ingredients except deep-frying oil in a mixing bowl.
Add water a little at a time and mix well until you get a fairly thick batter.
Heat oil in a wok over a medium-high fire.
When hot, drop in 1 to 2 tbsps batter and cook for 3 to 4 mins or till golden brown.
